. Will this really hurt demand that much? I doubt it. Subsidy ranged between $60-$100. In early 99 handsets were more than wholesale today subsidized yet even with economic turmoil sales were robust.

During March of '99 Korea added 2m new subs....then they added 66,000 and 130,000 new subs in April and May respecively.

What happened? Subsidies on handsets were reduced....The Korean operators have been going back and forth on this for a while.
