Medical people are incompetent. There have now been umpty million people infected with several $trillions in economic wreckage and near enough a million dead.
Despite the vast epidemiological data opportunity there is zero useful information that has been derived. Maybe not quite zero but near enough.
There is a spectacular variation in individual response. The range of effect is from about zero, to death after short or long suffering. The variation extends from infants to centenarians.
Why the variation?
There is no magic. So it's a matter of individual DNA, immune system history for each individual, nutrition over their life from before conception to now, physical, radiological, microbial and chemical damage during their life, how people were infected (lung, nasal, gastrointestinal, skin penetration, anal, eyes).
So epidemiological people should be pouring blood samples into chemical analysis and correlating those results with clinical outcomes by individual.
It would not require artificial intelligence to sort the data and give correlations of variables, individually and in combinations with each patient type.
Rumor has it that vitamin D, zinc, hydroxychloroquine, high density and low density lipoproteins, cholesterol ( aka fat people), are some variables predictive of clinical outcomes. There are loads of other variables that can be put into the correlation computers.
Who is doing it?
Nobody apparently.
Ridiculous studies of hydroxychloroquine were reported and were shown to be useless, designed to show that Orange Man bad, not to help those afflicted by KungFlu. One was so bad it was withdrawn from a major medical publication with great embarrassment.
