I actually ended up a little above even on my shorts today - I had shorted PCLN and EBAY at market open, but forced myself to cover at a loss when both rallied. I then re-established my short on EBAY (actually doubled the amount) when I heard of Ebay's site going down.

Ebay's site was down at market open this morning - it's really amazing that with their history of outages, their stock was able to go up five or six points in the first hour or so of trading. It seems that nobody knew the site was down - and it didn't become widely known until it was announced on CNBC nearly 4 hours after the outage began. I guess not all news travels fast on the internet.
