Yeah - you are correct that the voting rates of the young is much less than the older folks. However, to be fair there are a few issues. One is the inconvenience of voting - I always try to vote but twice in the last few years I couldn't... one was an important one too... I had to get home by 7pm and never do plus I had a morning meeting. Once they set up internet voting this situation with the young will improve greatly.

The other problem is that the gen-xers are never going to have the demographic numbers to outvote the elderly... it just isn't there and will never be there. But there is an element of integrity that I expect from all voters and these huge tax increases levied on the young in the 90s for SS - which we knew was going to collapse - plus a simultaneous lowering of capital gains rates which benefitted the elerly disproportionately, AGAIN just amazes me. Its like that group just says "F-YOU" to everybody else and thats it.
