Compaq, Inacom Talking Deal CMP Media Inc. - Saturday, November 20, 1999 Nov. 19, 1999 (VARBusiness - CMP via COMTEX) -- Shares of Inacom Corp. climbed sharply Friday amid speculation that the Omaha, Neb., reseller and distributor was close to signing a deal with Compaq Computer Corp., one of its biggest suppliers. Inacom approached Compaq to see if the Houston PC giant was interested in acquiring parts of Inacom's operations. A Compaq spokeswoman confirmed that the company was indeed looking at some of Inacom's configuration and logistics capabilities, but categorically ruled out an acquisition of the distributor.
