Stimulus At Work

The Rockingham School District approved the use of stimulus money to handle the extra work caused by the complicated stimulus process.
Reformer

Do we have this right? The school district needed to spend stimulus money to hire someone to deal with the complexities that are attached to the stimulus money and then, because it couldn't make the hire in time, was forced to

... borrow $600,000 to make payroll because the Windham Northeast Supervisory Union business office failed to get information to the Department of Education in time.

Which could cost

Rockingham taxpayers ... an extra $1,766 in interest if the school district is forced to extend the borrowing to the full extent of the loan.

This recalls the immortal words of Casey Stengel:

Can't anyone here play this game?

Or, perhaps, another of the Old Perfesser's best lines:

Don't cut my throat, I may want to do that later myself.
