That is the risk they took when they agreed to the terms. If they did not like the terms, they were free to go elsewhere. If it is "universal" in that profession, they are free to choose another.

I don't know of many people (if any, although there are undoubtedly one or two scamsters somewhere) accepting welfare who own outright and live in $600,000 houses.
