This has been my problem, so right or wrong, here's what I did about it: Got up at 2 a.m. to place sell orders at the market open on some winners in my IRA account that haven't yet taken a licking. I did this just in case the sky really is falling, figuring I might as well lock in some profits. So far, this looks like a good move as the stocks I sold are down from the market open. In my non-IRA account I sold off some losers for a tax loss, figuring I might as well beat the Christmas rush. All that has freed up some cash and I'm now doing some selective buying. Time will tell....
