Mrs. Evans, (sometimes rumored to be J. Anthony) had an advertisment in the Chattanooga Times doing interviews the last we heard of her.
She had a "blind" ad for which you had to apply at an area motel.
Mike Rehtorik told me that part of the GIFS internal investigation
when Emery, Evans and her husband were suspended evolved on Emery
transferring large blocks of stock from his name to hers. And,
it was well known around the GIFS office that she often took
trips to the "farm", i.e. Serenity Acres. She was Emery's personal
secretary--on the GIFS Payroll, however, she was Office Manager. She even received money from Emery (GIFS, perhaps) to pay a downpayment on her home...watch for photos.
She even came by GIFS offices when the liquidator was packing things up and said she, Emery and Jess Lovell (the American Lift king) were going to take the company back over--oh, the things some people dream possible! It would be hard to decipher which of the GIFS subsidiaries was the biggest scam, but American Lift was no doubt the one which
got the most money during the last few days!
Lovell, Emery and the Evans were long-time friends...maybe they're all
sitting up at Serenity Acres eating beef!
