Snopes is a reliably liberal source. It is tragic that this court proceeding has turned into a left vs. right issue. To a large degree, as a result of the president's incompetent wading into an issue that he had no business commenting on. Which he has done on numerous occasions. Courts of law should be about finding the truth, but the prosecutors in this case are not the slightest bit interested in the truth. They want a conviction. The truth be damned. They want Zimmerman behind bars, regardless of whether it was self-defense. And in the process they have whipped up the black community into a frenzy. Unfortunately, you are so out of touch with reality you see things that are not there. If you recall, it was the Sanford police that arrested Zimmerman and then let him go. That's what whipped up the black community into what you call a state of frenzy. Of course it wasn't frenzy but rather what the black community did was to protest the lack of police due diligence when it came to Zimmerman. It was playing out like so many other white/black incidents where the white guy gets off without a scratch...........and the black community was understandably angry.......and did everything they could to prevent that from happening. The problem, of course, with the Trayvon Martin murder is that Martin was totally and completely innocent of wrong doing.............and that Zimmerman is a typical profiler and wannabee cop. So its been very hard for racist whites to make Martin the bad guy. And that has made it harder for the cops and the legal system to ignore. What Zimmerman has going for him is the unusual way the Florida legal system looks at these crimes...........and the fact that Martin is not around to testify as to his version of that fatal nite's events. And this trial has turned into a left vs right issue because it has brought out all the incipient racism that underlies the right's view of the world. Let me add............the right's attempt to reduce Martin from a victim to a thug while glorifying Zimmerman has been nothing short of despicable. You all should be ashamed. Its hard to believe the year is 2013.
