I'm not aware of Zimmerman being arrested and let go. My recollection is that he was interrogated and there was insufficient evidence to charge him. Only after blacks became militant did they then decide to charge him without evidence. As I posted a few minutes ago, the Police Chief was quoted saying he was told they didn't care whether there was enough evidence or not, they wanted him charged.
