I've been using AOL for about 4 years now, but I will probably let my subscription lapse at the end of the year. I find myself referencing the custom AOL content less and less and using it as a generic ISP more and more. As an ISP, AOL has some -serious- shortcomings: Crappy throughput, the worst mail reader I've ever used, the "Do you want to stay online" prompt, etc.
I see AOL as being in a similar position as Apple was a few years ago: they are trying to compete by providing a "value added" service that is being slowly turned into a low margin commodity.

Bought some puts today, the bubble's got to burst sometime...
