<< As far as the IRS is concerned, if the country was turned over to me, I would tax everybody a percentage of whatever they spent over a certain amount. Notice I said "spent", not "made". No deductions, no depreciations, no army of tax preparers. Just figure out what it will take to make a small annual payment on the national debt and set the tax rate accordingly. Everybody uses the same tax form to send with the payment. Put a big down payment on a house or car, expect your income tax to be higher that year because you will be taking money from your tax deferred savings or business.
