I sense people here are just starting to feel: this is no ordinary war, and it probably won’t end soon.

If peace were to break out, then the pressure for a two-state peace treaty would be immense. The current leadership does not want such a treaty, they want everything to the Jordan river, so it is their goal to keep a war going.
