Many of the opinion polls seem to be so much off the mark because most of them were skewed to put one group or the other in a positive light. And in most cases, the bias was to project BJP and the NDA as the winner.

The "chattering class" has always been a supporter of the BJP. So they just loved to see the polls predicting a BJP victory. However, it is not just the chattering class that gets to vote. Everybody else does too!<g>
