The Constitution grants rights no mater what others claim.

That's not a correct reading - the Constitution claims we the people have rights (natural/creator/god) and limits the governments powers to curb those rights. Note the language of the first amendment.

Congress shall make no law ...

The Constitution does not grant rights - but instead secures them against government abuse - you do not grant what already is assumed to exist.
