Politics will exert more direction on the markets than any other single factor in the next year.

Politics over-

Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Israel, Russia. Politics over the deficits, US dollar policy, Fec and US Treasury policy, China trade & currency reform, tax reform - death tax, Bush Tax cuts, capital gains and as Slider said- welfare, or warfare- depending on who wins the 2008 presidential election.

Politics determines the direction of the economy and the markets- and given the state of markets and politics- 2008 stands to be of historical political importance.
