You are right, there have been a lot of sleazy presidents. Take FDR who let the not a surprise attack take place against Pearl Harbor, sacrificing many lives and our national pride in order to change America's isolationist view on that "eauopean conflict" and get us into WWII. That was a low point for America for sure, but nobody knew the truth for many years.
