IBM selling of INTC was one of the biggest miscalculation mistakes in corporate history. I remember IBM ownig as much as 40% of Intc. They surmised that the Japaness would make CPU's as cheap as drams. Ironically IBM pension plan held on to there shares. The pension plan also bought AMD. Also bought shares of AMD which they still hold.
