Terry, the most frightening thing that the study showed is that the
people in the 3rd quintile of income (median ~ $35K) apparently have
less net worth than those in the bottom two quintiles because
of their ease of obtaining consumer credit. The folks at the
very bottom do not have the "luxury" of credit availability.

It appears that our economy is creeping toward a Brazil-style distribution of wealth, and probably eventually a chaotic Brazil-
style social and political environment (30-50 years down the line?).

Let's hope that we never have another recession... 3/4ths of the
country is betting heavily that we won't. <NG>
