Do you feel that "many" democrats are racists in one form or another, or is it overwhelmingly with the republicans?

I personally feel that very few of our elected officials at the national level are racists. Some of the perceptions that create these beliefs are fostered (strongly imo) by the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (although I have not heard much from Sharpton in this case). They seem to encourage the view that you have, which imo is destructive and counter productive. Instead of encouraging people to stand up for the rights that are currently afforded to everybody in the U.S. they encourage people to blame a certain group (republicans in this case) for their woes. With that tactic it seems the only way we will ever be together as a nation would be for republicans to admit to being racist and to change their ways. That will not happen because it simply is not true that the republicans are more racist than democrats.

I would love to see a leader in this country for minorities that had a more positive message of hope instead of a devisive message of blame.

Last but not least, it seems like it would be hard to paint Bush as a racist (not that you have specifically said that). He has at least two black people at very high levels in his staff (or future staff) that to me should be an example of his desire to put together the most qualified people indepentant of their race.
