xm, going long and shorting have nothing to do w/ fundamentals in this manic market. i really don't think anything makes too good of an investment (up or down) b/c decisions are made on an emotional / tout basis and not made on a rational basis. cheap companies get cheaper every day while outrageously expensive companies get more expensive. the more expensive they get, the more people want them, all else being equal. the emotional state of this market turns economic theory into less value than toilet paper. actually, tp is pretty valuable ;-) such is a bubble market. good luck.
