Note: Part of this is missing - hopfeull the full text will be on WTC's web page soon...

Western Copper Holdings Limited (''Western''), in its joint venture with Teck
Corporation (''Teck''), is pleased to announce the following drill update on its massive sulfide discovery previously
announced on November 10th and November 21st 1997.

Hole SAL-25 which was originally reported as intersecting 161.2 meters of massive sulfides from 207.1 meters to
the bottom of the hole was continued to a total depth of 517.2 meters with a total massive sulfide intercept of 175.4
meters (575 feet).

The total mineralization encountered in drill hole SAL-25 is as follows:

[part of the press release is missing]

A second diamond drill has recently been added to the property and the following drill holes have either been
completed or are currently in progress:

Hole SAL-29 - drilled 100 meters south of SAL-25 intersected massive sulfides at 180.5 meters and continued to
338.0 meters for a total intersection of 157.5 meters (371 feet). The hole intersected massive sulfides again at 360.0
meters which continued to 373.0 meters for a total intersection of 11.0 meters. The hole is at 408 meters and
continuing.

Hole SAL-24 - drilled 200 meters south of SAL-25 intersected massive sulfides at 403.5 meters and continued to
458.3 meters for a total intersection of 54.8 meters (180 feet).

Hole SAL-30 - drilled 100 meters north of SAL-25 intersected massive to semi-massive sulfides at 240.5 meters and
continued to 305.5 meters for a total intersection of 62.0 meters (233 feet).

Hole SAL-31 currently drilling 100 meters west of SAL-25 intersected massive sulfides at 165.9 meters and
continued to 273.4 meters for a total intersection of 107.1. This hole is currently still in sulfides.

Assays are not expected on these intersections until early January due to the Christmas holiday period. Drilling will
continue until approximately 15th December and will then resume in early January.

The Teck /Western El Salvador project covers an area of 225 square kilometers and is being funded as to 55% Teck
and 45% Western. The massive sulfide deposit is located on claims optioned from Luismin S.A. de C.V. For details
