PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--(Dec. 14, 1999)--

Suttles Truck Leasing utilizes RSL COM's data,
long distance and 800 services enterprise-wide,
replacing multiple vendors and invoices with an
integrated business communication solution

RSL Communications, Ltd. (NASDAQ: RSLC.O) announced today that RSL
COM U.S.A., is delivering both voice and data services to Suttles
Truck Leasing, Inc., a nationwide transportation company that operates
a fleet of over 400 trucks and tank trucks out of 18 terminals in 13
states. Suttles has consolidated its data, long distance and toll-free
service needs with RSL COM, simplifying administration and eliminating
the need to process invoices from multiple vendors.
"RSL COM offers us a single point of contact for all our voice
and data needs, one monthly bill and excellent service as well as
network reliability," said Tim Suttles, vice president of finance for
Suttles Trucking. "The ability to consolidate vendors has been a major
benefit that saves time, reduces the administrative burden, and
ensures that we can immediately get in touch with the right person any
time we have a question or need to make a service change. What sold us
was having one, dedicated, customer service representative at RSL COM
who is always available to field questions or requests, and that is an
ideal way to do business."
Initially, RSL COM was called upon to upgrade Suttles' data
network from an expensive series of point-to-point private lines to a
more cost-effective solution that would support the rapid growth of
the company. RSL COM recommended and implemented a frame relay network
deployed in a client/server local area network (LAN) environment to
provide high-speed connectivity to the multiple dispatchers who work
at PCs or dumb terminals at each site.
The frame relay solution enabled Suttles to connect its 16
busiest terminals with the company's mainframe at its headquarters in
Demopolis, Alabama, allowing remote personnel to directly interface
with business applications ranging from dispatch to payroll and
accounts payable. Previously, only five terminals had direct access to
the mainframe because of the prohibitive costs of dedicated lines,
leaving the remaining locations to cope with the frequent disconnects
and other inefficiencies of connecting via dial-up modem.
Once the new data network was in place, Suttles elected to switch
its long distance and 800 service to RSL COM as well. RSL COM offered
more favorable rates than Suttles' previous provider, plus the
additional advantage of streamlined administration. Suttles is now
considering leveraging that advantage by purchasing prepaid calling
card services from RSL COM as well.
"Many of our customers are like Suttles Trucking," said Jim
Kohosek, President of RSL COM U.S.A.'s Westinghouse Business Services
Division. "They are looking to simplify their communications needs by
dealing with one company for data, voice and value-added services. We
pride ourselves on providing our customers with a total solution, one
that's customized to meet their specific business needs and followed
by superior customer support."
It demonstrates the effectiveness of our strategy to provide
integrated business communication solutions as well as our ability to
deliver quality service at a competitive price in both the voice and
data arenas."
