Hello Ms.Andrews,
I have to agree with you about the supply of the platinum metals. However,North American industrial interests need a home grown supply very badly which can guarantee supply when needed, not when financial needs of the producers or the whims of foreign politicians supply it.
With the increased use of these metals in the high tech industry and an enviromental safe metal (from cars to refining)The present production might not nearly be sufficient.Did you know that all the harddrives in all the computers are plated with platinum?
In order to encourage more supply the price went up, but the finding of and production of the platinum metals is very different from gold and not nearly as easy and also the lead time from finding a deposit to the actual production is much longer. The Sudbury east area offers an opportunity to come up with a sizable supply and I hope that they do find some economic deposits.
