Another IPO today. You can keep track of sector liquidity by following Nigel's posts (and a smattering of others) to the BVF thread. Today was $70 million for Transgenomic Inc. Variagenics (pharmacogenomics) will go out the door within a couple of days for what looks like $60-80 million.

The funding window of 2000 is like none ever seen. These labs will need shakers. They will need incubators. They will need ultralow freezers. Genomics "trickle down" presents big year 2000-2001 ops for conservative investors.

Forget DGI. Do your valuation on "core NBSC", the genomics "picks and shovels" play.

Then, forget "core NBSC", and do your valuation on DGI.

Add them together. What figure do you come up with? I've made it clear that I come up with $130 million, or $21/share. Of this, $15/share is based on industrial America, not on patents that may or may not translate into therapeutics. OTOH, that other $6/share buys you the glamorous leverage, the fuel for biotech junkies.

Please, lurkers and others...... post your estimates!

TIA

Rick
