Report from Vancouver, as Canada takes on over 100 redirected flights from the U.S. from coast to coast.

Just came back from downtown, where all the malls and offices buildings are in the process of locking down for the evening, even though it was only 2PM local time.

The airport is now cut off from traffic, with ambulances, fire trucks, RCMP and police attending in legion. We are expecting 30+ flights to show up over the next few hours bearing about 6,000 people. Many of the other aircraft are still on the ground, with passengers stuck inside. Apparently the airport resembles a parking lot of airplanes.

Reports from Yellowknife, NWT is that a Korean Airlines plane was escorted by both U.S. and Canadian military aircraft after sending out a distress signal, but has now landed safely.

It's going to be a long night.
