One more thing about it that's fantastic: it can shoot in absolute darkness. And I mean absolute. I toyed with one in my darkroom, and you can't get any darker than that, not a light leak to be found there, I made sure of that years ago. The shots in pitch black darkness come out greenish b&w's, but hey, beats nothing by a million miles! The Sony can not only make pictures in pitch blackness, it can focus in it as well.
From what I've read that is a capability associated with the CCD imager. The AF sensitivity on the 1-D is listed as 0 eV whereas the 30 & 60 (CMOS imagers) its .2eV, well the voltage is another way of decribing lighting intensity as thats what they turn it into.
Well, sounds like your seaning heavily towards the 707. Sonys done a fantastic job with video cameras.
We've got 4 computers in the house, 3 are Sony's they are tough competitors in consumer electronics.
