Would like them to allow to run engine with fuel cell at indy next year and win. This would give stock a shot in the arm. Regarding fuel efficiency, more complete combustion without running large xs air will yield slght improvement. If exhaust energy is used in vaporization, thus recycling that energy, that could give a big boost in efficiency.
October 1985 Chemical Engineering Progress page 16 had an article on using this energy to crack methanol thus improving economy tremendously while reducing emissions. I faxed article to company in Jan. 1994. I doubt if they saw the significance. Methanol could be produced from high sulfur coal of which the US has in abundance. Could be sold for less than $1 at pump. Using proven technology for cracking it would give economyies at least as good as gasoline with no objectionable emissions except CO2. This would get us away from dependence on middle east sources. Have our cake and eat it too.
