<I just can't get excited about a company whose market valuation is twice the worldwide sales of the entire semiconductor industry; whose sales rose 4.8% and earnings fell 11% in 1998 (its worst performance in a decade); and who lost 26% of its retail PC microprocessor share and 11% share overall.>

Of course, you do neglect to mention that 1998 was a tough year for semis as a whole, and not just for Intel.

Of course, you do neglect to mention that though Intel lost marketshare, it still has 95% profit-share, which is good enough for any INTC investor.

Of course, you do neglect to mention that Intel, big as it is, is still nimble enough to respond to the changing marketplace.

But hey, if all you want to do is pop into this thread and do nothing but give the birdie to a room full of INTC longs, then why should I expect anything more than a one-sided story from you?
