Hi bentway; Sure "scientists are alarmed" but most scientists don't know anything more about the subject than you do. They read the same newspapers and worry about their own field.

I gave you the links from the people who analyze the NASA data. That's as close to the facts on global warming that it is possible to get. Everyone else knows less than they do. And they're talking about the same 60-year cycle that all the "deniers" talk about.

If you want to feel good that the above is BS you can read the alarmist cant on the subject at the best alarmist blog, "skeptical science":
skepticalscience.com

But in terms of trusting skeptical science, doesn't bother you that the people who analyze the NASA data on sea level rise are in disagreement with skeptical science? It should raise some red flags with you.

What's going on here? Is NASA funding deniers, LOL?

Your world doesn't have an explanation for articles like the one I linked. My world does. Skeptical Science lies about what the "consensus" is. The consensus is that we don't know how much sea level rise is due to global warming but some of it is probably due to the 60-year oscillation. Consequently the alarmist predictions for 2 meter sea level rise this century are bunk.

And the transparent nonsense written on the skeptical science blog (in the link I give above) should be enough to convince any scientifically astute reader that skeptical science is not where you should go to get your knowledge on sea level rise.

I mean really, they claim that the 60-year oscillation is supposed to go back 1000 years, LOL. No one claims that. The earth has modes, one expects that there will have been a 60-year oscillation 2000 years ago, but the expectation is that there are other oscillations going on. You can't fit a line that far back.
