We been through this many times. Buying AMD is simply buying a ticket to your own beheading. Many firms have $3-6 billion to buy, but not $10 billion to lose. You can easily buy into AMD if you wish, but with Jerry in command, forget it. Intel could even use the chips, but the only possibility is for AMD to fail and have to be acquired by someone. Intel could only buy under the failing firm doctrine to protect the AMD investors' property values. Intel would have to get a Hart clear bill of health, and exemption from complications in its current case. No chance of this until some real laissez-faire DOJ takes over.
