People like that don't think, like about these possible/probable senarios:

....national guard/troops will be on the highways keeping them free for emergency vehicles, only

....will otherwise, keep people from a mass exodus from the cities

...bet me FEMA won't impound techies to help with emergency repairs!

...forget gas after the first, espically for a longgggggg trip, or even before the first, due to gas rationing!

....how many desperate people will regardless be on the highways or at any in-between stops, ready to stick up any hapless travelers for whatever they have, e.g., shoes, warm clothing,gasoline, any food articles,tires, auto parts, kiddies to help with the harvest, fems for pleasure, you name it!

For some that make it part-way, if they were planning on a divorce, they may no longer need one to have a 'parting of the ways'!
