Basically all Malaysians as well as Corporate entities have been on a system where taxes are paid in May for the previous year (not unlike our own system). The Government has suspended all tax payments for 1999. However, they will collect in 1999 for the year 1998 and then in the year 2000 for the year 2000. It will have little effect on the individual tax payer in terms of cash flow but it does avail certain Corporations to take advantage of a tax holiday though I do not quite know the mechanics of that.
