Ole 49/r, Gerald is correct and I was a kid when Roosevelt raised it from 20 to 35 and remember my Dad turning in his last Double Eagle on the last day it was legal to hold them in '33 (what fools we mortals be). I can assure you I will not be turning mine in when the gubberment comes to get them. My ancestors came over here for FREEDOM and that includes owning gold if I want to in any form. Nixon was right about that anyway, even if he did'nt understand economics, and human nature. Currently the gubberment values gold at $42 and some cents is my recollection without research.
