I used the stock report feature on my Portico account for the first time yesterday. It works well. "Open my stock report. What's the price of Cisco Systems?" got me the 20-minute delayed quote with scarcely a pause.
I started using my Portico account heavily after I got a new Sprint PCS phone with 110-hour battery life. I believe I will just give out my Portico number from here on as my personal number.
Dialing by just saying "Call John Smith" is addictive. Some day soon we no longer will have to use numbers. Can you imagine if you had to use the IP address for internet access?
For any singles out there, please note that demoing your Portico account at the bar is a great way to to strike up a conversation.
"Excuse me," she says, "if you don't mind, who were you talking to?"
"Oh, just, Portico, my digital assistant."
"C'mon. Your what?"
"Here let me show you. I'll dial it, and when she answers, give her your name and number."
(There you go, you've got what you need. Easier than saying, "Hi honey, you know I lettered in four sports at Harvard.")
The features I use most on Portico are in the myTalk offering for free. |
