How's this for a theory. IF a fund like Magellan wanted to take a major position, ie 5% of 20% of the portfolio. Then some broker is going to get a order for 400+ (?) million shares.

Maybe if that were me I would buy a couple of million at the open and then with the specialist's help spend the rest of the day selling maybe some shares to keep the market down,

Then at the end of the day I would pop another couple of million shares.

But, that would be illegal, wouldn't it?
