Yes they are doing so. That is why we see Osama's Al Qaeda going up against the Saudi monarchy, numerous smaller radical groups in countries such as Yemen etc going up against the richer members of their society.

And they extend those to the richer Western nations also. They do so through the rallying cry of religion, which history proves has been effectively used.

These are same people that the US used to combat Communism. Today it has grown into a giant monster at the doorstep of Western society. And lately, the Russians have decided to join in by inviting the religious Hamas to Moscow.

I prefer to look at the entire situation globally than within the narrow confines of religion. We need to guard ourselves against falling prey to both the Pat Robertsons as well as Osamas of the world.
