Z, You like the sequester, yet you say that we need to go through every item one by one. I said that sequester doesn't do that. Actually, I don't remember you saying anything about the sequester, except that (a) it's too harsh and (b) it's too big relative to the aid we give Egypt.
You were insinuating that Obama could say "hey, we're going to take the aid from Egypt and put it towards teachers," but he can't. Why not? He wields the most amount of influence in Washington. If he can direct the State Dept. to withhold and suspend aid to Egypt, he can then free up $1.5B/year for whatever he wants, e.g. more teachers.
Saying that he can't is indeed plain denial.
You hammer on Egypt, and I really have never had a discussion about it outside of this forum. It really is not high on my list. The subject of this particular thread of discussion is Egypt. If this isn't high on your "list," then you're free to drop it. Personally, I think you're only trying to drop it because you're not doing a very good job countering my impression that Egypt is one of many examples of Obama's incompetence.
Not that it's your job to change my mind, but I think you could try harder if you really wanted to.
I say $1.5 billion is just a "drop in the bucket" and you laugh at it. That's right, I did, and I explained why. It's yet another denial of yours.
Where are the "denials?" Yeah, I think we're done here.
