I have to say Myron that I'm relatively ignorant re: Iran Contra. It's one of the subjects I hope to read up on when I can. I'm interested in getting the straight poop rather than all the spin from either side. I do know the following though. Once Reagan discovered, or it was disclosed to him or whatever, the true circumstances he instructed his whole staff to cooperate fully with the IC. All records were made available immediately upon request. No one has reported any obfuscation by Reagan during the investigation nor were the people investigating same threatened or intimidated or attacked when providing information detrimental to him. I'd say it bespeaks volumes as to the character between the prez we have now vs then.

Marlon Fitzwater's book, I think it's called "Call The Briefing" or something similar, would be a good place to start. Marlon served under a number of presidents including Democrats. I read the forward and one statement from it I will never forget-Marlon said during his entire time with Reagan he never heard Reagan even once say a bad word about anyone. Reagan really did like and care for people which he showed in his actions and not just in his rhetoric. I know people who've taken their children to visit Reagan in his office in Century City and said he was one of the warmest and genuine people they've ever met.
