All...

I had to plow threw 50+ posts since I shut down last night. I'm an early riser but some of you were up ahead of me... you know who you are <g>.

Here's my 2 cents on software. I own WOW (vers 6.5), MSWIN (vers 6.52), OmniTrader (next to last vers), GannTrader2 (next to last), MegaTech and probably 2-3 others I've forgotten about. You collect this stuff as you go along.

Unless you want to (and have time to) watch all day, I can't see spending the bucks on the RT programs. Duh. For my own use, I've learned much more than I can remember from years of studying Gann. Much of it just pops into my head when the situation warrants it. But, I no longer run the software. It's very time consuming.

With OmniTrader, I've owned every version they offered except the very first and the most recent. Flew to Phoenix a couple of years ago for a seminar. Believe me, I've tried to make it work for me. Sadly, I can only say it throws out as many bad signals as good and I never made a dime with it.

Megatech was a good program, heavily supported on the Prodigy boards while I was there. I replaced it with WOW several years ago. WOW works! But, it's just a snazzy chart program. You have to tell it what to do. I got mad at these people after buying every upgrade they offered. They decided to become data vendors and made their latest upgrade be very stubborn about what data it would read.

The previous version of WOW was not Y2K compliant. They finally offered one that was just a few days before the end of 1999. But, it wouldn't read my data feed (Quotes Plus). However, the QP people made a mod to their feed that now will work with WOW. I love the program, hate the people. If not for the care and concern from Quotes Plus, WOW wouldn't work for me today.

Just when it looked like WOW was going away, I ordered my version of MS. If someone could merge WOW and MS together they would have one helluva program. I now use them both, but use WOW more. Probably 70%/30%.

Both will do sophisticated backtests and publish the result, much like the one CatLady did earlier. But, I underuse them both... mostly just to make pretty charts (artist at heart).
