Yes, The HIV test is important, but what your overlooking is the huge potential of their uni-gold platform. Most of the tests that they now have (nearly 100) as well as others, can be adapted to this format, which means inexpensive rapid tests w/ good profit margins. This is where the potential of this company is down the road. They are also looking into puting several tests on the same card, so when a person goes in to get a test for say Hepatitis,
he/she can be tested for HIV, herpes, and god knows what else. The # dropped by Trinity when we were there last month was 5 tests at once, so this could be big and give them an advantage over competition. Yes, we all would like to see HIV test come to the US market, but it will not make or break co, long term. It's more important for braking the ice at the FDA for other tests, IMHO. |
