I suppose the BIOS work could be done to make this possible. However, the announcements from both AMI and Phoenix are quite specific in stating that they will be supporting internal IDE devices as "A" drives. There is no mention of external device support as of yet.

But certainly, one can always hope.

It seems somewhat misleading to be mentioning the "2 million Zips" already out there in the context of this BIOS announcment, as most of them will still not be bootable devices. I think this is just a marketing guy taking the opportunity to point out what a big lead the Zip has over the competition.
