"One of the world's best known computer programming minds?" Come now. He may be a very bright guy, but he is certainly not widely known, and has made no major contributions to the field. I'm sure he would be the first to laugh at hearing himself compared to Gates, let alone Einstein or Edison. Either you are joking or your last name is Stewart. Clearly, if you were one of the most brilliant minds in software, you would choose to work in a sexier field than legacy system maintenance, which is about as boring as you can get, and if for some strange reason that was your choice, it would not take 14 years to come up with a product. There were mature products in this field over a decade ago, and a good team could develop an optimal automated conversion tool in less than a year.
