To S3 believers continued:

I believe that point 3 is the key since market leadership in highly volatile segments such as the 3D market is meaningless unless it is a sustainable advantage. If we use the Boston Consulting Group's growth share matrix, S3 is well positioned to be a star since it is located in a high growth industry and at the same time have absolute market share leadership. Based on the above analysis (derived from my years of experience in the strategy consulting industry), and my confidence of top management at S3, I started to load up on this stock at different price points last summer, and bought more after
November.

However, I have come to the painful conclusion that even being a star and potentially a perfect model for new start-ups to succeed does not necessarily gaurantee success in the stock market. I don't think we can blame everything on the so-called MMs and try to rationalize the whole situation whenever there is a stock price decline. There is huge opportunity cost associated with this ratioanlization. I am still a true believer in S3, but would suggest that we use our money somewhere else until the whole investment community begins to believe what we believe in the company.

I apologize for the lengthness of this post and would welcome any feedback.

Best Regards,

Bill
