Mike, too true. and some indices, like the VL ari, have even a mathematical up bias that basically produces a compounding error. equal amounts invested in the components result in underperformance over time.

note also that electrification is by far a more profound event than the introduction of the internet.
and yet, the mania it spawned was smaller by several orders of magnitude...
