I attempted to send the webmistress an e-mail but I was unsuccessful so I will use this venue to attempt to get her my thoughts on the issue: Dear Webmistress: First let me state that the SI site is the best on the WWW.I have gained much from it and your company is to be commended for making it available to we members. The awards and recognition for your site are well earned. Each organization must have rules and procedures by which they operate their company. I am sure that SI is no different since you deal with such a diverse cross-section of individuals. The mere format of the interent lends itself to diversity and differences of opinions within the bounds of common courtesy being extended to reasonable people. Dr. Henry Niman is the originator and "heart" of the Ligand thread. Dr. Niman's contributions are unique and for the main part based on scientific knowledge that a vast majority have grown to appreciate on this thread. 99.9% of the posters to this site are in full support of him and would sorely miss his input. Recently, certain individuals have joined the thread and to put it mildly(IMO), have rubbed the vast majority of the regular posters the wrong way with their antagonistic postings. As a group, we have have asked these individuals in cajoling ways and in some cases abrasive ways to stop the bickering so that we can have an informative and fun thread. The implied threat to remove Dr. Niman from the thread, I think is being directed to the wrong individual. Speaking for the majority(IMO) of the thread members, we hope that you will give proper consideration to our concerns. Your task is a difficult one and we wish you the best. Sincerely, Cary Lindsay
