SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 1997--SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) announced today that Kodak will use rugged, reliable and economical CompactFlash (CF) memory cards developed by SanDisk as the removable digital memory in Kodak's new megapixel Digital Science DC210 Zoom Camera.

The camera, which has a built-in slot exclusively for CompactFlash, was introduced today. A 4MB CompactFlash card will be included with the sale of every DC210 marking the first time that a
CompactFlash card will be bundled with every Kodak digital camera sold. Following the recent industry trend, the Kodak DC210 has no internal memory, and the removable CF card serves as the
camera's sole storage.

SanDisk officials said that Kodak's announcement continues a strong industry trend of camera manufacturers introducing new digital cameras that use CompactFlash as the camera's removable memory. This is the 19th digital camera introduced in the last year designed to use CF memory cards and further strengthens CF's position as the global digital film standard. Four Kodak digital cameras
have been introduced in the last year that all use the new small-size, CompactFlash memory cards, which work interchangeably in any of these models.

Under an OEM agreement, SanDisk will supply Kodak with CF cards that will be sold under the Kodak Picture Cards brand name. Besides the 4MB capacity CF cards, Kodak also markets 2 and 10MB Kodak Picture Cards.

The Kodak Digital Science DC210 Zoom Camera is available today at an estimated retail price of $899, which includes the 4MB CF card. The camera features a 2x zoom lens and a 1152 x 864-pixel image sensor which can produce vivid 5 x 7-inch photo-realistic output. The DC210, which looks and operates like a conventional point-and-shoot camera, also includes a built-in automatic flash, a 1.8-inch color LCD screen and various software applications.

Nelson Chan, SanDisk vice president of marketing, "With the addition of the DC210 digital camera, Kodak has one of the strongest and broadest digital camera product lines in the industry. Kodak's
continuing commitment to CompactFlash is further endorsement of CompactFlash as the clear leader in the camera memory card market."

Nick Billow, product line manager, digital cameras, Digital and Applied Imaging, Kodak, said, "We continue to support the use of CompactFlash cards in our digital cameras because of their ease of use
and durability. We already sell SanDisk CompactFlash and Type II memory cards under the Kodak brand for our previously introduced digital cameras and we're continuing that relationship today with the announcement of the DC210."

The DC210 Zoom Camera has two resolution settings and three image quality settings. Depending on the mode selected and the resolution quality desired, picture takers can take from 16 to 60 pictures in 24-bit color with a 4MB CF card. Higher capacity 15, 20 and 24MB CompactFlash cards are available from SanDisk. In addition to megapixel resolution files, users can select VGA resolution pictures for web pages and other applications that don't require the full image quality.

Consumers find digital pictures especially useful because the pictures they take can later be viewed on a PC, transmitted to other PCs, inserted into newsletters, reports and documents or be used to set up Internet pages. They can also be printed out as standard hard copy pictures on home or office printers. Users also will soon be able to make prints and other creations using the Picture Cards at retailers which offer Kodak Image Magic systems.
