Oddly enough, the two foregoing posts are why I had, in the past, been a tad critical of seek even though I was, and remain, long. Seek, by itself, has never been innovative, which is why it was always such a laggard in its field. (Remember all those posts, "this stock is undervalued, look at xcit, yhoo, etc.?") It wasn't undervalued. It was doomed to obscurity because it never took an agressive position in an aggressive industry and never did anything that another company hadn't done before, and better.
But, that's why (and the only reason) I like the Dis deal. Dis is the opposite. An innovator. Aggressive as hell. It is a player, and needed seek, a mere place holder, to use as its foundation to create an internet dynasty. And it will. And seek will benefit, whether it wants to or not. And Harry Motro can talk all he wants about being number one, since it costs him nothing and changes nothing. Motro has yet to win a race. Eisner, on the other hand, knows what it takes to be a winner, and doesn't like to be an also-ran. So relax, because while the market has its ups and downs, Dis is busy making Seek happen.
