Launched in May, Operation Warp Speed (OWS) is a government initiated private/public $10 billion US program to help provide support to companies in the development, manufacturing and distribution of 300 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine, with the aim of having initial doses ready by January 2021.
We’ve been having a friendly disagreement on a similar strategy with our own LB. It was about an proposed effort - pushed by Spengler - to organize another private/public Sputnik moment-type national effort to leapfrog China in crucial areas of technology.

Like, for example... there has been talk, for years, that China is finding it increasingly expensive to use human workers for manufacturing - and are investing in AI and Robotics. The idea would be to do the same, to do better than the Chinese - and to successfully compete against China. To Make Manufacturing Great Again.

Could have been an interesting idea to consider for Donald Trump's 2nd term.
